Day 4

Watched video today with the other classes. Same thing, the lecturers wanted us to observe the different style in other documentaries. The first video was about a happy family that turns sour due to a postage. This video has got a unique style whereby while interviewing the speaker, the video will not totally focus on the speaker's face. The maker of this film had put in old videos of the family in between the speeches. Some of the old videos were not even being filmed professionally, however it suit the whole documentary. Then the next video was about a guy making a speech. It doesn't really suit my taste and it doesn't make a lasting impression in me.
After the videos, the lecturer allowed us, three girls(Aaron's sick) to access the lab at level 6 so we can discuss with Aaron. However, the internet connection was not very good and we wasted half of the time trying to communicate in one msn. At least in the end, we manage to fix our role to every member. I'm the group leader and I'll be helping to organise everyone and keep my members on track. Yi Chuin and I will be doing on storyboard. Yi Chuin wil also help out Aaron with video editting. Aaron got another role as cameraman. Last but not least, our important scribe, Vivien who will be narrating as well. We will all be acting for this video, so everyone will be getting their chances in handling the camera. :)We also agreed to call ourselves 'Stone Production & Co.'. Short form, 'SPC'. :) It's good that my team members are keen in discussion and are all easy-going.
But, we are still struggling with the intro. Vivien had thought of doing something like a 3D rollercoaster ride feel to the opening of the video. Then, she added that there will be a scene whereby the door opens and the narration reads: "A ride of your life..."(umm.. something like that) Then, Aaron also got an idea. He said why not zoom in to a computer and have someone there saying "Here we go"... Yi Chuin was thinking of the ending, whereby a lot of little videos will form into the letters "MOI". Quite cool. With so many ideas, we will just have to try it out to see which will fit.

Day 3

Today, the 3 classes went to the LT because some of the students are still unsure of what it means by documentary. Therefore, the lecturers showed us a few examples of how documentary can look like. My group members all finds that the ending of < shoot'em > is really great. We all like it and might consider doing an ending with a mini animation/video by the side as the credit moves. Like what I have thought of, the video of the group of mountain climbers had the intro that I have wanted. It basically people walking, and then we pause the frame and introduce their name into it. I think that it's quite cool. We could use Flash to add in the moving text and moving graphic as background to make it more stylish. The other intro that the members had come up with was shown on this video, . The intro whereby the camera angle was flying all over was actually Vivien's idea (please refer to day2--part2)! But of course, the graphic whereby the text comes in was really amazing and cool. It will be tough to do exactly what was done in the video, . I enjoyed the ending song of myself. It was such a fun and lovely song and it made me happy. I think that I should start on searching for songs.
Luckily, the lecturers told us that we don't need all the subjects to be in the video(*phew).

Day 2 ----- part 2

Today, after watching movie, we went to Mac to discuss and brainstorm more ideas. We finally plan out how the video should run and how to link each subject together. Something like filming from video then slowly changes it to animation. But, Vivien was very INSPRIED by the movie: Body#19 's opening. She wanted to do an intro whereby the camera will fly in different directions and angle. So, we decided to try it out on day to see if it work.

Day 2 ------- 29/1/08

It's day 2! Today, everyone is going to have their blogs reviewed by the whole class. I was quite afraid to show my content to the class as it contained some irrelevant content... When it was my turn, I summaries the content, however the lecturer told me that I never add in my idea. My blog content was too general, therefore I plan to improve by typing out everythings my members had disscussed (trying to remember everything...). After seeing everyone's blogs, I could see that some of our classmates really put in effort and a lot of ideas. I should learn from them.

Okay, so today lesson also involved knowing what message or emotion we are going to convey to our targeted audience. So our number 1 message our group are going to bring across is " MOI is a fun and challenging course ". We think that if you got a passion/interest for animation/video, you will defintely find fun. Of course, as you go along the way, you will have challenges that will shape you into a better person.
After the class, me and my group members still have some time left. So, we continued with our disscussion. We had agreed to do the lion logo thingy, whereby we change to Aaron's head instead of using the lion (copyright issue 0_o"). Then after this, we will start the introduction of each and every member in the group. Since Yi Chuin finds that if everyone was introduced in the same style, it will be boring. So, why not let each of us have our own style of introduction :) I was planning to jump up and have my frame freeze, and then my name will be introduced. The rest of them are still confirming. We were stuck with how the intro could connect to the middle content of the video... Still planning, though Vivien mentioned about doing a animation whereby the character was being pulled into the video. It's an interesting idea, however it is quite tough to produce something like that (especially with a limited amount of time given).

DAY 1

Today is day 1 of project1. Went for briefing in LT and I met someone who is interested in Yaoi, just like me!! ^^ I chat with her for a while before everyone went into the LT. The briefing for our project was short and clear, which is a good thing for most of us. But my friend Vivien was worried about finding group members. So I told her to wait till we know who is in T03. After the brief of our project 1, everyone went to their class. Vivien, Yi Chuin and I were sitting together during the class. Due to the fact that the three of us are animation 'students', we were hoping that the last group members of ours can be someone who is good in video production. Luckily Aaron joined us (thanks goodness o_0''), cause I am not good with video. After forming our group, we went down to the canteen to start brainstorming. When we went back to the class at 2pm, we were able to write down some idea on a note pad. Then, we slowly came up with how the intro should be like. More idea were generated by the four of us. It makes this project seem more fun then scary now :) Hope that everything will go perfectly as we plan. Going to generate more idea tomorrow...
